Shifting to a low carbon future is a moral imperative
As people of faith and conscience, we embrace nature’s beauty, we are in awe of its power, and we respect the delicate interconnected web of existence that charges us with great care for our planet’s gifts.
We envision
a world in which energy is used sustainably, resources are treasured and shared, and resilient and democratic support systems help all of creation survive climate change.
We commit
to taking immediate action to advocate for keeping all fossil fuels in the ground and 100% renewable energy by 2025.
Take action!
More than 5,000 individuals and close to 200 congregations have signed on to Interfaith Power & Light's Paris Pledge to cut their carbon emissions in half by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2050, practicing what we preach and asking the nations of the world to follow suit. We know that to save our biosphere, even more radical action is needed, but taking this pledge is a good starting place.
Take the Paris Pledge as an individual and/or as a congregation.
Visit Interfaith Power & Light's Cool Congregations site for carbon calculators, start-up kits, inspirational success stories, and other resources for congregations.
