The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth has been involved with environmental justice work for many years…. We have several projects that are relevant to climate change that may interest Unitarian Universalists…. If you’re interested in any of these projects, please let me know…. First: Some of the people in the Falmouth fellowship have helped to organize the environmental justice delegation that will go to Cuba for Earth Day. We hope to organize future environmental justice visits to Cuba and we hope to involve more Unitarian Universalists…. Second: We are working with other congregations to prepare a proposed CSAI called “Climate Change and Environmental Justice.” We hope that this proposal will be introduced for the 2016 General Assembly…. Third: At this year’s General Assembly, we will coordinate the panel discussion about emergency services, environmental justice, and climate change. We’re working with the UUSC and Commit2Respond on this project…. Much of North America has been hit very hard by the winter of 2015. We remind people that, “This is what climate change looks like.” Several members of the Falmouth fellowship have been active with emergency services projects. We’re especially concerned about homeless people, the elderly, people who don’t speak English or who lack citizenship papers, and people in other vulnerable groups….. P.S. On Sunday, April 19th, two members of our fellowship will speak at the UU church in Naples, Florida, about environmental justice and climate change, with some special attention given to the situation in Cuba.
