Our UU fellowship in Stevens Point has members and a Green team
involved involved in local CCL and 350 chapters. We work to interconnect
with the actions of these groups as well as host an Earth Sunday service, April 17.

I am excited about this year's Commit2Respond. I am also a member of our congregation's (Main Line Unitarian Church, Devon, PA) ECO/GreenSancturay Committee).

I'm a Unitarian Universalist minister in Florida who has been active in environmental justice work for a long, long time. During the 1990s, I helped to establish the Green Sanctuary movement and I introduced the UUA's first statement on environmental justice work. I was active in some other projects. In 2010, the national Sierra Club gave me a Special Service Award because of my environmental justice work. In recent years, I've done a lot of emergency services work. I coordinated the trauma and climate change workshops for the General Assembly gatherings in 2014 and in 2015.... My Florida congregation introduced the proposed discussion that's called "Climate Change and Environmental Justice." I'm the minister for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs, Florida. We're very close to the Gulf of Mexico.

I ma happy that U.U's are starting to work with Black Lives Matter and are looking at race, poverty and social injustice and justice. I think another very important issue is indigenous rights and environmental degradation. If we were to support or to promote supporting/ offering help and building relationships groups like http://indigenousrising.org/actionmap/, we would be promoting several UU principles in action. We would be showing that we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being respect the web of nature. We would also be honoring our commitments made at the Parliament of Religions to work against climate change and to assist aboriginal people. If we supported Idle no More especially there march against violence against women we would be honoring our commitments made to promote equality and justice for woman, Native peoples, and supporting a group that promise social justice and fight climate change.

I'm chair of Green Sanctuary Committee at UU Community Church of Santa Monica. We are interested in participating in the March 22-April 22 2016 worship, RE and social action events.
