Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Pledge to reduce your carbon footprint by 20% in two years.

Pledge to reduce your individual or household carbon footprint. There are many possible ways to meet this goal, including:

  • Using energy from renewable sources like wind, hydro, and electric power, rather than fossil fuels like oil and gas.

  • Eating ecologically and economically sustainable food

  • Commuting by bike, walking, or public transportation

  • Making environmentally-friendly shopping choices

  • And more! We invite you to choose the solutions that make the most sense for you and help you reach your goal.

These tools can help you measure your current carbon footprint and plan your two-year actions as an important start toward carbon neutrality by 2050.

Yes, I will commit2respond by: composting & conserving, reusing & recycling, managing my 20 acres for increased pollinator (bees) & grass-land bird habitat. Also growing much of my own food & being active locally for improved water & soil quality issues in the watersheds. Finally, supporting w/time,talent, and treasure, sustainable agricultural & environmental efforts (a 7th generation philosophy) and challenging forces that only see short-time gain with longtime

negative impacts on water, air, and/or land.

Reduce my family’s carbon footprint by 20% in 2 years. We are moving closer to town so we will be able to walk, ride bikes, or bus instead of drive everywhere. That’s a start.

I’ve already done much to reduce my use of carbon fuels, so it will be a real challenge to get another 20% in 2 years.

I will commit to reducing my family’s carbon impact by 20% in two years. We already have solar electric and hot water panels. Our biggest contributor is travel and transportation… I will walk and bike when I can and encourage my family to do the same.
