We are participating in Climate Awareness month with an alter growing each week as we start with honoring water, then fire, then air and then the earth. Each week we will share reflections and spiritual practices to connect with these elements. On the final Sunday we will participate in an Earth Day service, then the local Prescott Creeks clean-up event, and meet with them to discuss on-going neighborhood projects to keep our community clean.

During the month we will also be showing Friday night movies each week focusing on climate change.

First Parish publicized and took part in the November 10, 2015 Legislative Action Day at the Massachusetts State House sponsored by the newly formed MA Interfaith Coalition for Climate Action. Six First Parish members joined 200 other participants on the Grand Staircase of the State House to hear religious leaders and politicians speak eloquently about the need for climate justice. Afterwards, participants visited their local legislators to advocate for the five energy priorities advocated by the coalition.
