Engage or Re-engage with the Green Sanctuary Program

Commit your congregation to working toward Green Sanctuary accreditation or re-accreditation in the next two years.

The Unitarian Universalist Green Sanctuary program inspires actions in all three areas of Commit2Respond (shift, advance, and grow) and includes additional activities that help congregations make the culture shift toward sustainability and justice.

Similar programs exist for faith groups in other religions: check out Greenfaith's certification program for houses of worship from many faith traditions, and Green For All's brand new Green the Church initiative for African American churches.

We earned our GS accreditation in 2009, and are still very active. We’re working on putting together a Climate Action Project which will involve the whole congregation, and community involvement. We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning.
