Commit to organizing or joining a Green Sanctuary Task Force in your congregation
If you are part of a congregation, you can take action in all three areas of Commit2Respond (shift, advance, and grow) through the Unitarian Universalist Green Sanctuary program (or related programs in other religions). The Green Sanctuary Program includes activities that help congregations make the culture shift toward sustainability and justice.

The Earth Ministry Team at Northwest, as part of our on-going Green Sanctuary activities, commits to undertake a serious investigation of how we can fulfill the objectives of I.P.L.’s “Paris Pledge”: How we as a congregation can reduce our carbon footprint by 50% by 2030, and become “carbon neutral” by 2050.
The congregation I serve as a religious educator is already a designated Green Sanctuary. I commit to supporting that designation by providing environmental education and activities through the religious education program, by encouraging outdoor activities and maintenance of our grounds as family activities, and by supporting best 3Rs practices in the offices, kitchen, and classrooms here.
