Our village, county and region have been very active for several years and have finally succeeded in getting New York State to have a moratorium on fracking for natural gas. Many wonderful people have joined together for this success. Another group has started a solution to have solar energy in our region. they met in our church in addition to other places in the southern part of the state.

I am a retired teacher, active progressive thinker and involved. I am "feet on the ground" where I can. I can't figure out why some people are concerned are concerned about leaving money or debt to the following generations but care nothing about leaving quality soil, air, water and climate!

We're preparing to mounty a Climate Justice Project in our church, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady. We're in the planning stage. We're looking into resources for our own edification and for public presentations. Probably our kick-off event will be our Locavore Lunch in late September.
