People from states all around Minnesota will be joining in with a regional action as vibrant in execution as the Peoples Climate March. I make this call to action to Commit2Respond to join me an thousands of others in Minnesota for this event.
I am a long-time Unitarian Universalist and member of First Universalist Church of Minneapolis, MN where I was actively involved achieving the congregational certification as a Green Sanctuary. I continue to be active in our Environmental Justice Team.
I recently fulfilled two terms (six years) as a board member of Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light and work actively as a volunteer for this organization.
I am called and activated by our first and seventh principles to take a strong moral stance against climate change; therefore I do what I can to minimize the use of fossil fuels in my home, in my church and in my community. To me, these efforts are a means to achieve environmental justice for those most marginalized in my community and broadly in the world.
